Composting Ceremony with Evelyn Vogel-Leutung

Composting ceremony guides community into joining the cycles of death and decay through the recognition and embodiment of all that is dying in ourselves, and our various relational worlds, releasing these aspects naturally into the decay of the compost heap. In animist practice this is the process of dissolution and dismemberment, in which our flesh and bones dissolve away, leaving a tender void space.

In this dark emptiness, new creations gestate, nourished by the rot of previous iterations of our being.  Given time and space, a new cycle of life begins. As Sophie Strand says, we melt into another, bigger story of life.

Let’s join together in ceremony to create a field of supportive dissolution, and begin to prepare ourselves to gestate the new.
